If you just want to invest in a few key pieces of jewellery that will match every outfit you have, then you will need to choose extremely carefully. It may feel right to just go with something plain and simple, some diamond studs and a matching necklace for example. However, you may find that you get bored of such a basic and simple design. However, if you really like them, then this will be the sort of thing to go for.

If you know that you will get bored of a very simple piece, then you will need to think more carefully. One thing to do is to get a chain and then buy a selection of different pendants to hang off it. Matched with plain earrings, you can achieve different looks for a relatively small price. You could also go for something coloured but that matches most of your outfits. If you tend to wear a certain colour most of the time, then this colour would be the obvious choice. However, if you wear a variety of colours then maybe pick something which goes with a lot of them. For example blue jewellery could go with grey, black, which and blue outfits, but is less likely to go with green, orange and brown.

The most important rule is to shop around. Be aware of what is available in your price range so you can make an informed decision. There is nothing more irritating than spending your budget on something and then realising that there is something much more suitable that you now cannot afford. Also, if there is nothing you like or are completely sure about, then do not buy anything. You can wait until next season when there will be new ranges out, but do not make a rush decision that you will regret.
